A perfect Cape Cod Winter Sunset

Happy Holidays to All.

In the sometimes crazy and strange times we are in....we still can find the joy in all...

This time of year is the perfect time to reflect and see the joy from this year and also to look forward to what we feel are still things to be accomplished or on our wish list.

Introducing our friend Lisa...she is a new wash a shore to Cape Cod and we love seeing the Cape through her eyes. She has been a fan of our homes and a vacation home visitor for a long time and now she has her own piece of paradise. Lisa and her husband have been here almost a year now and have been in the throws of completely restoring a vintage Cape home. In all of her transitions this year she finds her "moments" each day on the Cape and snaps that moment into what sometimes we long time residents forget to take in each day. She is also an amazing knitter and knits these very cool baby hats etc. Take a look at her stuff at: http://www.etsy.com/people/ldaunais?ref=owner_profile_leftnav

Lisa will now be sharing her moments with us (when she can remember) and remind us all why we love the Cape.  Here are here first pics she sent me as we took in the Bank Street Beach in Harwich Port sunset a few days ago.

It was a perfect sunset indeed.  And here is Lisa....

Enjoy and take some time to enjoy your "MOMENTS".  And don't forget to say "YES" to the Cape!

Ready, Set, Summer!

April break is here and now many are coming to the Cape to search for their perfect Summer Vacation Rental.  Lots of prime weeks in great homes have been booked but come down and we will find you the perfect home.  Consider the shoulder season...there is nothing like "Indian Summer" on the Cape.

Come late June and you can run or walk the Harwich Road Race on June 23rd. www.harwichroadrace.com  This is a very fun 5K (but certified race) that takes you through downtown and around Harwich Port.

And don't forget there is some kind of fun event every day in our towns...art in the park, music, farmer markets, theatre and lots of local great seafood and fish.  Have you ever been clamming...we can point you in the right direction.

See you on the Cape!

Spring Ahead!!

So it is almost March and the temperatures have been really mild.  I travel back and forth from Cape Cod to Maine each week and watch the everchanging landscape.

It has been seasonally warm on the Cape ---I see folks outside wearing just light jackets and sweatshirts.  They are in full spring mode.  Lots of bike riders, golfers, runners, walkers.  I even saw people playing tennis.  The warmer weather has created an interest in people wanting to book their summer vacation rental earlier than previous years.

I also think folks are tired of the tough economy and are just ready for a much needed vacation.  And the Cape still gives great value for your money.  Where else can you book a week's accommodation for 5 for under $1,000.

As for Maine...it has been a dry winter.   Lucky for snow making and really great grooming as this what we have been skiing on so far this season.  But on Friday -we had 8 inches of beautiful snow and this week even more snow is coming.  For those of you who have not had a chance to ski this year, now is the time.  There are great lift ticket deals at http://www.newenglandvacationrentals.com/guest/lifttickets.html.

Spring is in the air....just get outside and do something with your family that is fun for all.

Enjoy!!

The Snow is Finally Here...

Finally there is snow...not just snow but great snow.  Ski conditions last weekend were incredible.  I actually got to ski solo with my kids on Monday...they are incredible skiers....so I just follow them.  Of course I am much slower then them and I kept thinking they would ditch me.  But I always found them waiting.

People are complaining about winter but I love it...it gives me a chance to get outside and enjoy the outdoors.  It is great for my kids as they too are outside and away from all video games and technology.

Not to mention the great conversation we have in the long car ride back and forth to Maine.

If you don't ski then try snowmobiling, cross country skiing even snow shoeing and tubing.

Enjoy!
